The photo etching method, or chemical machining on plate, is a sophisticated system for engraving small pieces, usually complicated, with minimal dimensional tolerance, able to compete very well with the traditional systems of mechanical engraving.

Deriving from an ancient system that is still being used our days in graphical arts, it spread in the last years due to its increasing quality and to the constant improvement of the planning and control services, raising the value of the engraved and frequently giving solutions that no one thought of before this. |
 |
To prepare the artwork for the chemical engraving we need a pattern or a drawing on paper, or in any of the following graphical formats: dwg, dxf (AutoCAD or other softwares that use these formats), 3dm (Rhinoceros), stl, igs, cdr (Coreldraw), ai (Illustrator), pdf, fh11, tiff, bmp, tga, eps and others.

From EXELLA's experience we advice the technical designers to comply with the dimensional tolerances indicated here, and also to take into consideration that the type of material, the thickness and the shape of the piece can influence on the tolerances.
Possible guaranteed characteristics will be pre-emptively accorded.

For the beginning of the production of every article, and only for the first time, it is paid a contribution for the digital artwork processing of a few tens of euro.
There are no annoying quantity limits and the prices do not depend on the quantity.
